The all new 02 arena is a stunning, state-of-the-art entertainment venue, situated in the newly regenerated Dublin docklands. This world class stadium re-opened it's doors on 14th May 2010 and has a seated capacity of 50,000. The stadium is located on the fringe of Dublin City, and is easily accessible by rail and bus from Dublin City Inn. The Aviva plays home to Ireland's rugby and soccer heroes, but also hosts some world class entertainment. Recent live events include Michael Buble, The Script and Neil Diamond. In the city centre just off the Stephen’s Green end of Grafton Street The Gaiety is a popular theatre. On Friday and Saturday nights you can experience the theatre in a different light as a nightclub opens its doors. The latest opening club in Dublin provides live bands on each floor. Although this is a theatre by design it is also one of the best live music venues in Dublin hosting major international artists as well as the top Irish bands. Visit the Olympia website. There is no official website for The Olympia, however event tickets can be purchased on the ticketmaster website.
Initially founded to host dramatic productions from European and American playwrights it was the place where both Orson Welles and James Mason started their acting careers. Visit the Gate Theatre website.
The curtain rose for the inaugural performance at The Grand Canal Theatre on March 18th 2010 with The Russian State Ballet featuring stars from the Bolshoi performing Swan Lake. This state of the art theatre hosts all types of entertainment including ballets, musicals, family shows, drama, concerts, comedy, orchestral and opera, many of which would not have been possible to stage in Ireland before.
